New construction in Southwest Calgary is concentrated south of Stoney Trail along Macleod Trail and Sheriff King Street (Belmont, Yorkville, Pine Creek, Silverado) and in the west along the ring road near Tsuut'ina Nation lands (Alpine Park). The quadrant offers quicker access to the mountains through Highway 8 and Highway 22X and shares the Somerset-Bridlewood CTrain station with the far south.

  • Main routes: Macleod Trail, Stoney Trail (south-west section), Sheriff King Street, 162 Avenue SW and Highway 22X.
  • Transit: the Red Line CTrain ends at Somerset-Bridlewood station; Belmont, Yorkville and Pine Creek rely on bus connections to it.
