Profile

About Silverado

Silverado is an established community in south-west Calgary, west of Macleod Trail and south of Stoney Trail, developed by Qualico Communities beginning in the early 2000s. Unlike the newer communities around it, Silverado is finished in the ways that matter day to day.

Schools are open, the Silverado retail plaza serves the community with grocery and services, parks and pathways are complete, and the streets have mature landscaping. Product remaining for new construction is largely estate and final-phase lots, with the rest of the market being resale.

For buyers comparing Silverado with neighbouring Belmont, Yorkville or Pine Creek, the decision is usually about whether finished amenities today are worth giving up the lot selection and newer product available next door.

Commute note: Approximate drive to downtown Calgary via Macleod Trail or Stoney Trail, or Red Line CTrain from Somerset-Bridlewood. Off-peak roughly 24 minutes, peak roughly 30 minutes.

Highlights

  • Schools, retail and parks already open and in use.
  • Silverado retail plaza with grocery and services inside the community.
  • Mature streetscapes and completed pathway network.
  • Short drive to Somerset-Bridlewood station, the Red Line CTrain terminus.
  • Immediate access to Macleod Trail and Stoney Trail.

Considerations

  • Limited new construction remaining; most of the market is resale.
  • Final-phase and estate lots carry premiums over the community average.
  • Fewer builder choices than in the active communities nearby.
  • Confirm which product is genuinely new construction versus a resale listing.

FAQ

Questions about Silverado

Silverado is late in its build-out. Remaining new construction is largely estate and final-phase lots, and most of the market is resale. Buyers who want new construction with lot choice in the south-west generally look at Belmont, Yorkville or Pine Creek, which are earlier in their phases.
