Methodology and editorial policy

The rules every page on this site is written against. Last updated .

  1. 01

Community facts are separated from sales claims

A profile states who the developer is, what is built today, what is planned, which builders have held lots and what a buyer should verify. It does not state that a community is a good investment, that prices will rise, or that a planned amenity will open on a date.

  2. 02

No prices, premiums, fees or incentive amounts as facts

Those figures change with every phase release and every builder. Pages describe what the cost line is and who sets it, and send the reader to the builder's written price sheet, the association's fee notice, or the primary government source.

  3. 03

    Ratings are dated, never live

Third-party review scores in the builder directory are shown with the date they were captured. They are not endorsements, rankings or current scores, and inclusion in the directory is not a recommendation.

  4. 04

Alberta sources, cited near the claim

The New Home Buyer Protection Act, the Alberta New Home Warranty Program, the Real Estate Council of Alberta, the Canada Revenue Agency for GST, and the City of Calgary and neighbouring municipalities for planning and transit. Guides carry a source note listing what was used and when.

  5. 05

    Drive times are planning ranges

Where a page gives minutes to downtown it is an approximate off-peak to peak range for orientation. It is not a measurement for a specific address and the page says to test the commute at your own time.

  6. 06

    Nothing is invented

No fabricated statistics, inspection findings, expert reviews or author personas. Client testimonials on this site are from named clients of the publishing team and are presented as their own words, not as evidence about any builder or community.

  7. 07

Who publishes and how it is funded

NewBuildHomes.ca is published by REP YYC, a Calgary real estate team brokered by Real Broker, and is part of the PRPTY Network. The team earns commission from builders when it represents a buyer. Reference pages are free to read without an account and do not require contact with the team.

    Corrections and updates

When a community, builder or rule changes, the page changes and the reviewed date in the source note is updated. Structured data reports the same modification date shown to readers. Corrections can be sent to the contact address in the footer.
