Newer northeast community east of Cornerstone with laned and front-drive product.

Profile

About Homestead

Homestead is a Genesis Land Development community in far Northeast Calgary, east of Cornerstone and north of Country Hills Boulevard. It is one of the newest communities in the quadrant, which means more lot choice and fewer completed amenities than its neighbours.

Product is mostly laned and front-drive single-family homes, with duplex and townhome product in some phases. Because the community is early in its build-out, buyers are choosing on lot orientation and price rather than on established schools, parks or retail.

Treat Homestead as a longer-horizon purchase. The area structure plan reserves school and park sites, but the surrounding retail and recreation that residents use day to day is currently in Cornerstone, Savanna and the Country Hills corridor.

Commute note: Approximate drive to downtown Calgary via Stoney Trail and Deerfoot Trail. Off-peak roughly 26 minutes, peak roughly 35 minutes.

Highlights

  • Newer phases with more lot selection than the established northeast communities.
  • Direct access to Stoney Trail and the airport employment area.
  • Laned and front-drive product at accessible northeast price points.
  • Neighbouring Cornerstone retail and the Genesis Centre are a short drive away.

Considerations

  • Early build-out means construction traffic, unfinished landscaping and few on-site amenities.
  • Schools serving the community today are outside it; on-site sites are reserved, not open.
  • Public transit service to new far-northeast phases is limited; confirm routes before relying on them.
  • Aircraft activity from the airport is audible in parts of the northeast.

FAQ

Questions about Homestead

Cornerstone is larger, older and further along in its build-out, with a central park, a commercial site and a longer builder list. Homestead is newer and smaller, so it offers more lot choice and fewer finished amenities. Buyers who want to pick a lot choose Homestead; buyers who want amenities sooner choose the established Cornerstone phases.
