Profile
About Crestmont
Crestmont is the westernmost residential community inside Calgary city limits, sitting in the foothills on the north side of the Trans-Canada Highway near the Bearspaw and Springbank boundary. Qualico Communities has developed it in phases since the early 2000s.
The reason people buy here is the setting and the highway. Crestmont is minutes from the western city limit, which makes it one of the fastest addresses in Calgary for weekend trips to Kananaskis, Canmore and Banff, and it has genuine foothills topography and views.
The trade-off is isolation. Crestmont is separated from the rest of the city by open land, there is very little retail within the community, and residents drive for nearly everything. The community operates a residents hall funded by an association fee.
Commute note: Approximate drive to downtown Calgary via the Trans-Canada Highway. Under 45 minutes to Canmore off-peak. Off-peak roughly 25 minutes, peak roughly 35 minutes.
Highlights
- Fastest access to the mountains of any community inside Calgary.
- Foothills topography with view lots and a rural western edge.
- Residents hall and community association amenity space.
- Later-phase and estate product with larger lots than typical inner-city offerings.
Considerations
- Very limited retail inside the community; residents drive to Bowness, Crowfoot or Springbank.
- Transit service is minimal; this is a car-dependent community.
- Association fee funds the residents hall and is registered on title.
- Trans-Canada Highway traffic noise affects lots near the highway edge.
